The ASX (Active Stream Redirector) Buffer Overrun vulnerability allows a malicious user to create a streaming media file containing specially malformed data that, when played by another user, would cause code of the malicious users choice to run on the other users computer. This 'Lite Version' of WinAMP plays all audio formats with the exception of WMA and ASFS and it does not come with the WinAMP visualization studio. It allows you to transcode WAV, MP3, MOD files (and other audio file types) into WMA.There are a lot of plug-ins available from the author's Web site that extend the functionality of WinAMP.
